WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 20, 2019) — Chevy Chase House, one of Montgomery County, Maryland’s premier senior living communities, announced the addition of Evelyn A. Donahue, MS, BSN, RN, as its new Director of Nursing, effective March 27, 2019.
Ms. Donahue brings a broad set of clinical and leadership skills to Chevy Chase House. With more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, her expertise includes clinical nursing at both the acute care and community levels, business development, health policy and advocacy and service as a corporate representative on a healthcare system’s Committee on Health Disparities.
She has served as a dialysis facility administrator, national director of reimbursement, project manager and consultant. Her skills include management and training at the corporate level as well as consulting locally for Washington D.C. attorneys on clinical review, patient data analysis, Medicare reimbursement, program administration and court testimony preparation. She has also served as an adjunct researcher with the Center for Health Policy & Preparedness at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and in leadership positions as vice president for the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Nurses Association and director for sponsorship with National Capital Healthcare Executives, a chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Prior positions held by Ms. Donahue include regional hospice director and clinical liaison, acute care nurse for multiple medical-surgical specialties at a major academic medical center, and vice president, corporate and clinical programs for Diogenec Group, a Washington D.C. healthcare consultancy, where she led the development of a vulnerable populations resource guide for the District of Columbia Department of Health.
