Dementia Trainer, Speaker, and Published Author Angelia Brigance to Speak at Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care about her Experience and New Book
Angelia Brigance, a dementia trainer, speaker, and published author, will share her experience and expertise including dementia care, communication skills, and senior life challenges at a speaking engagement on Thursday, August 21, 2019 from 5:30-7:00PM at Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care located at 4800 Idlewood Drive in Brooklyn, OH. Ms. Brigance, a member and contributor for the Washington Athletic Club Speakers Bureau, will also discuss her new book, Finding Rose. This highly informative book traces the journey of Rose, a flamboyant woman with early signs of dementia, and her daughter Maureen. It illustrates technical and practical applications of strategies to improve communication and develop connections with loved ones with dementia.
Growing up with her grandparents, Angelia developed a passion for the senior community and helping people understand and communicate with those who have dementia. For the last 26 years, Ms. Brigance’s career has established her as a leader in successfully coaching and training professionals, families, and businesses in the senior world.
Angelia’s varied career in the senior arena comprises of educating, writing, and speaking. In addition to teaching as a guest at Northwest University, she has taught communications, conflict resolution, and leadership skills for a variety of companies, including Starbucks. Angelia’s work on issues affecting seniors has been published in both the Washington Athletic Club Speakers Bureau magazine and local magazines. Her educational credentials include earning as Master of Science in Counseling, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and an Associate Degree in Developmental Disabilities. Moreover, she has successfully completed studies in Geriatrics, Validation, and Neurolinguistic Programming.
Through personal experience of recently surviving a ruptured brain aneurysm and Stage 3 lung cancer, Ms. Brigance is now even more inspired to offering succor to others in the face of their own individual life trials to feel gratefulness and optimism. On the weekends, Angelia loves to hike with her husband and two dogs and has been blessed with two adult children and one grandson.
