Atrium at Liberty Park is proud to announce that we have been awarded deficiency-free ratings on the State Biennial and Limited Nursing Services (LNS) surveys as administered by The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA). Opened in late 2019, Atrium of Liberty Park offers supportive independent living, assisted living, and memory care services to seniors in the Cape Coral area.
“I’m so proud to lead this team, said Robert Lord, Executive Director of Atrium at Liberty Park. “It is the commitment and dedication of all of our associates that made this possible. I have watched our community grow from the ground up and to be able celebrate this milestone is humbling. I look forward to our future successes.”
The state of Florida's inspection for deficiencies is a thorough and lengthy process. In order for a senior living community to achieve a deficiency-free survey, all services provided at the facility must meet or exceed all state and federal standards. According to AHCA, the average number of deficiencies among assisted living communities and nursing homes in Florida is seven. Receiving zero deficiencies is uncommon in the state, particularly with the extreme challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are so proud to recognize Atrium’s staff members and their extraordinary efforts in going above and beyond in delivering exceptional care to their residents, especially with the unique challenges presented by the pandemic,” said Kim Hayes Regional Director of Operations of Meridian Senior Living. “Their diligence and dedication to complying with the rigorous standards set by the AHCA, reflects the honor of receiving two deficiency-free surveys."
The AHCA conducts unannounced periodic inspections of all senior living communities in Florida to determine compliance with state and federal regulations. Surveyors assess the facility in areas such as quality of care and life for residents, adherence to COVID-19 protocols, staff competencies, physical plant conditions, and overall wellness and safety of the community. These surveys consist of making observations; reviewing clinical records, policies, and procedures; and interviewing staff, residents, and families. Senior living communities are awarded deficiency-free surveys when all these regulations are met.
This deficiency-free achievement adds another accolade to our list of recognitions. Atrium was named Best Assisted Living, Best Retirement Community, Best Memory Care, and Best Senior Living in the Fifth Annual 2021 Best of the Best Cape Coral awards; Best of Cape Coral in both Assisted Living and in Senior Living in 2021 by Cape Coral Breeze; and Best of Senior Living Award Winner in 2021 on SeniorAdvisor.com, the largest ratings and reviews site for senior care and services in North America.
Receiving these exclusive designations in addition to the deficiency-free State Biennial and LNS surveys means that our residents can expect the highest level of care in a secure environment. This is a key factor families consider in the process of selecting a senior living community for their loved one.
