Chapel Hill Senior Living will support the Alzheimer’s Association event The Longest Day on June 19, to raise awareness and funds to advance the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Chapel Hill will celebrate the Longest Day with a blueberry social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day at the Cumberland Monastery. Stop by their table and have a blueberry parfait or a blueberry lemonade.
Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission to fight Alzheimer’s, the Longest Day is a team event held annually on the summer solstice. Including the most hours of daylight, this bright day symbolizes people across the globe fighting the darkness of Alzheimer’s through a fundraising activity of their choice. Chapel Hill Senior Living is one of 25 Meridian Senior Living communities across the nation taking part in this event by engaging in activities that they enjoy and honoring someone living with the disease.
For this special day, Meridian communities traditionally wear purple, which is the Alzheimer’s Association’s color of unity.
“The team at Chapel Hill Senior Living is enthusiastically planning exciting events to increase awareness of the fight against Alzheimer’s,” said Courtney Fisher, executive director. “We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission, which is to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting crucial research.”
