Chevy Chase House Luxury Senior Living, a Washington, D.C.'s premier senior living community, is delighted to enjoy a generous and touching gift of music performed by students from Holton-Arms, an independent school for girls located in Bethesda, MD. Produced by the Lower School’s Head of Music, Melissa Novak and her Assistant Helen Poon, the music track: “I Make My Own Sunshine” features the 6th grade chorus. The track showcases beautiful vocalized harmonies of the song paired with the strumming of an acoustic guitar. Facing the challenges of the pandemic, the lyrics convey a meaningful message of being positive when circumstances may not be optimal; such as, “It don’t matter if it’s raining, nothing can phase me, I make my own sunshine.”
“We cannot express our gratitude to the Holton-Arms students for their generous gift during these challenging times, when visitation is restricted for safety,” says Nicki Beekman, Executive Director. “The music not only fosters positive emotional health among our residents but also provides an intergenerational connection that can improve mental, cognitive, and physical health.”
Access to the sound file is showcased on the Chevy Chase House Facebook here.
