Meridian Senior Living and Validation Training Institute Launch Exciting Internet-Supported Validation Worker Course in Texas

Enhancing Caregiving Skills and Building Joyful Relationships with Older Adults

Meridian Senior Living and Validation Training Institute (VTI) are thrilled to announce the launch of an Internet-Supported Validation Worker Course in Texas, the perfect opportunity for professionals, paraprofessionals, and caregivers who work with older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The program is designed to provide a flexible, internet-supported learning experience with concentrated in-person components, making it easy to integrate into your busy schedule while maintaining high-quality standards.

"We are thrilled to partner with Validation Training Institute to bring this innovative and flexible training program to professionals, paraprofessionals, and caregivers working with older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias,” Sue Johnston, VP Program Development, Meridian Senior Living. At Meridian Senior Living, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care, and this course is an important step in achieving that goal. We are excited to see the positive impact this training will have on the lives of older adults and their caregivers."

Validation training combines theory, techniques, and hands-on practice to give participants an effective, evidence-based communication tool for everyday caregiving. With 19 short online training videos, interspersed with interactive webinars, two 2-day in-person training sessions, and practice periods, the training program is designed to take approximately 16 weeks, and participants are expected to devote about an hour per week to complete the coursework.

By the end of the program, participants can expect to feel more competent in handling challenging situations, contribute to a person-centered atmosphere, and experience the joy of building relationships and communicating with older adults with dementia. The course is suitable for MDs, DOs, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, therapists, social workers, chefs, housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, in-home caregivers, and family caregivers.

The cost of the program is $1,250, and group rates are available. In-person training will be held at Hidden Springs of McKinney, a beautiful, luxurious community at 6421 McKinney Ranch Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75070, where participants will enjoy the perfect learning environment.

Participants will receive an internationally recognized certification as a Level 1, Validation Worker upon completion of the course. Craig Rukande, a Certified Validation Teacher since 2019, will be the Validation Teacher for the program, and he has a wealth of experience and expertise in the field. Craig has taught Validation Worker courses both online and in classroom settings and has served as a State Tested Nursing Assistant, Executive Director, Sr. Resident Care Coordinator of Memory Care, John Maxwell Team Life Coach & Mentor, and Operations Specialist. Craig is currently a Regional Director of Memory Care and Engagement and lives in Westlake, Ohio, with his wife and three children.

Past participants of the Internet-Supported Worker Course have shared positive feedback about the program.

"Validation training produces Quality of Life/clinical outcomes: Can reduce psychotropic meds; I now know how to handle behavioral expressions."

"Makes work better/easier: I feel less stress; I'm more efficient and my work is higher quality."
