P. Kacy Kang
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Kang leads all aspects of operations at Meridian Senior Living. For over two decades Mr. Kang has held senior leadership positions for several of the largest providers in America including Emeritus Senior Living® and Good Neighbor Care®. Before joining Meridian Senior Living, he served as President and COO of a national chain of assisted living, memory care and retirement communities. His previous positions included Senior Vice President of Operations in charge of 289 communities with more than $800 million in annual revenues.
His hands-on approach and understanding of operations at every level provide him with a uniquely effective and proven leadership style. Mr. Kang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master of Science in Social Administration from Columbia University in New York City. He completed his graduate student internship at the Jewish Home & Hospital in New York. Mr. Kang has served on the Washington State Ombudsman Advisory Board and he is a Washington State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, as well as a California State Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Mr. Sweet leads all aspects of acquisitions, development and redevelopment, as well as oversees asset management and administrative functions at Meridian Senior Living. He has a wealth of C-suite experience including senior executive positions with NRF Healthcare Management, LLC., Wakefield Capital Management, Inc., and Chain Bridge Capital, LLC.
Mr. Sweet holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Timothy P. O’Brien
Mr. O’Brien was formerly the Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of NRF Healthcare Management, LLC the health care investment subsidiary of NorthStar Realty Finance Corp., where he was the principal officer involved in the sourcing, structuring, and financing of investments for the firm’s proprietary investment strategy or for sponsored vehicles.
Prior to joining NRF Healthcare’s predecessor, Wakefield Capital Management, Inc. in 2006, Mr. O’Brien held senior-level positions within the real estate and banking industries with companies including Bear Stearns, Lazard Freres and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Company, where he provided investment banking services, strategic advisory services to public and private companies engaged in real estate, gaming, lodging, health care and other asset intensive businesses.
As an investment banker and institutional investor, Mr. O’Brien has completed more than $15 billion of financing transactions. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, who received his MBA from the UNC-Chapel Hill. He has an MS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a BA in Economics and Business from Randolph-Macon College.
Principal and Chief Sales Officer
Mr. Carlin is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Meridian Senior Living’s national sales, marketing, and services organizations, including training and culture development. In addition to driving sales and marketing programs, Mr. Carlin is responsible for branding, public relations, market research, and cultivating the local autonomy necessary for community-based relationship marketing. Mr. Carlin brings over a decade of experience in the senior industry as an Owner Operator, Consultant, Executive Director, Regional Director of Operations, Divisional Director and Vice President for one of the largest senior living providers in the country.
Prior to joining Meridian Senior Living, Mr. Carlin was charged with the turnaround of one the most challenging regions at Emeritus Senior Living®, which now stands as a regional standard with an operational sales culture that was adopted nationwide.
Mr. Carlin served on the board of the Utah Assisted Living Association for 4 years and was involved in the rewrite of the Assisted Living Regulations that govern the industry in Utah today. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and German as well as a Master’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Utah. Mr. Carlin’s professional affiliations include The Gerontological Society of America®, American Society of Aging, and the Alzheimer’s Association.
