Meridian Senior Living is honored to support the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. This year Meridian’s communities from across the country are forming teams and raising funds to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. All of the Meridian teams will participate and be recognized as a Walk to End Alzheimer's® National Team.
On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s.
“Our communities are proud to support Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting critically need research,” says Sue Johnston, VP Program Development. “We are aware of the dramatic impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals, families and companies, so we are committed to support the Alzheimer’s Association.”
More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 16 million family members and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Meridian Senior Living works every day to improve the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s and to become a resource for their families and caregivers. With Meridian’s MONTESSORI MOMENTS IN TIME™ program, memory care communities, and the compassionate individuals who make up the teams there, strive to enrich lives and infuse purpose into each and every day.
