Mother’s Day Campaign to Benefit the World Health Organization COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

We are honored to celebrate mothers in our community by launching a distinctive Mother’s Day campaign to benefit the World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

Since the health and safety of our residents, resident families, and staff members is a top priority, we are adhering to the CDC and local health authorities’ guidelines which restricts traditional Mother’s Day gift options such as flower deliveries. Instead, we are offering a safer gift option for families to treat their special loved ones on Mother’s Day while donating to an important cause. This year, we are offering the opportunity to purchase four in-house made strawberries dipped in chocolate with a card delivered to our residents for $8. Orders must be received by Thursday, May 7th for delivery on Sunday, May 10th. Proceeds from this campaign will be donated to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the mothers in our community who bring so much joy to our daily lives, and also lend our support to WHO’s global efforts to fight the pandemic,” says Julie Mammad, Executive Director.  “The response from families and friends so far has been incredible.  Families are donating above and beyond the purchase of the chocolates. One gentleman was so supportive of the cause that he purchased ten orders, even though he does not have a mother at Vista Terrace, to be delivered to those who do not receive a gift.”

The WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund leads and organizes an effort to support countries to “prevent, detect, and respond” effectively to the global pandemic. Elements of its plan include ensuring that patients get care, purchasing and distributing personal protective equipment, and the speeding up the development of vaccines, tests, and treatments. Its goal in accomplishing its mission to date is to raise $675 million; however, this figure may increase.  For more information about WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, visit:
